Search Efforts

How do I post topics to search engines so that they can be linked to a new website?

I have recently created a website to inform local people of political issues. I want to be able to have them search by the town name, and have it list my site as a possible search outcome. How do you notify these search engines?

  1. By creating your own web site. Everything on a personal web site is searchable. Search engines look for key words over connected servers that host web pages. Your chance of recieving many hits is low, there are trillions of web sites, and yours may be buried in about a billion pages. If you are serious about wanting searches to find your web page you have to pay search engine companies very big bucks to surface closer to the top of search results, The titled searches that make up the boarders of web site searches has paid millions of dollars for being featured like that. Here is my suggestion, publish your website address so people will get the word that the site exist. So they know to go to that site for that information, like in local news paper, bulletin boards, what ever, forget relying on a search engine, your site is a tiny speck in the big picture, that approach is not a successful option, unless you have a several thousand dollars to waste on search engine listings
