What do some of the world's foremost scientists say about Global Warming?

“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever. “Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.” Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist. “The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn’t listen to others. It doesn’t have open minds… I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists,” - Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the UN-supported International Year of the Planet. “The models and forecasts of the UN IPCC "are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity.” - Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico “It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don’t buy into anthropogenic global warming.” - U.S Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA. “Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapour and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will.” – . Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, NZ. “After reading [UN IPCC chairman] Pachauri's asinine comment [comparing skeptics to] Flat Earthers, it's hard to remain quiet.” - Climate statistician Dr. William M. Briggs, who specializes in the statistics of forecast evaluation, serves on the American Meteorological Society's Probability and Statistics Committee and is an Associate Editor of Monthly Weather Review. “For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?" - Geologist Dr. David Gee the chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress who has authored 130 plus peer reviewed papers, and is currently at Uppsala University in Sweden. “Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp…Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact.” - Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch UN IPCC committee. “Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined.” - Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh. “Creating an ideology pegged to carbon dioxide is a dangerous nonsense…The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle. It became an ideology, which is concerning.” - Environmental Scientist Professor Delgado Domingos of Portugal, the founder of the Numerical Weather Forecast group, has more than 150 published articles. “CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another….Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so…Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” - Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan. “The [global warming] scaremongering has its justification in the fact that it is something that generates funds.” - Award-winning Paleontologist Dr. Eduardo Tonni, of the Committee for Scientific Research in Buenos Aires and head of the Paleontology Department at the University of La Plata. # Note a recurring theme. About half of the climate scientists do not support the Global Warming hysteriia, and that half tends to be the elite minds. The bottom feeders are the ones who believe this crap. I'd rather believe upper echelon minds than the intellectual gutter trash, basically.

Public Comments

  1. So 99% of the scientific community says it is caused by CO2, and 1% disagree, and you would prefer to listen to them? Whatever floats your boat.
  2. I'd say it's about time the mainstream media starts covering both sides of this issue, not just continue the fear-mongering they are currently practicing. It's too bad "green" has become a very profitable industry.
  3. Physical chemist. Paleontologist. You can always dig up some loons who believe anything, and that's what your handlers have done. What you won't be able to find are more than one or two climate scientists who don't agree that global warming is real. And you'll find thousands who do.
  4. There are more than 30,000 published scientists who do not believe in man made global warming including the founder of the weather channel. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2007/10/09/court-identifies-eleven-inaccuracies-al-gore-s-inconvenient-truth http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/monckton/goreerrors.html http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1350746/posts http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/global_warming/2007/12/10/55974.html http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/news_press_release,176495.shtml http://articles.latimes.com/2008/mar/26/science/sci-adapt26 http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=64734 http://www.tylerpaper.com/article/20080213/NEWS08/802130360 http://canadafreepress.com/2007/global-warming020507.htm http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/1696
  5. If we continue down the path that the Chicken Littles of the global warming debate would have us go, then we would all revert back to caveman days when we walked or ran everywhere we went with little or no influence on the planet. I'll start listening to the morons when I hear them start to embtace atomic power as a viable alternative to fossel fuel.
  6. Anytime a "study" cites large numbers of "experts", as in 80%, 90%, or even 75% of the experts say a certain thing is happening, it is quite reasonable to be skeptical. It gets even more fantastic when the charts and tables come out, because these can be drawn to make a very minor fluctuation in data appear to be very large. My first doubt about the film and book, "An Inconvenient Truth" was that it was released in mid-summer. I do not mean to make light of the possibility that global disasters may loom large, but I do not think the danger is any greater today than it has ever been. The biggest difference is there are more people today than even one hundred years ago, so disasters will affect more lives and thus be more catastrophic
  7. I'm open-minded about the issue, however I think that there's a distinct possibility that many scientists will always say whatever gets them more funding and shut up if they disagree. This doesn't make the Global Warming sceptics right, however the fact is that it's convenient for politicians to encourage fear of global warming so that they can exert more control over the gullible masses. Anything which promotes fear is something politicians love, as it means the politicians can be seen to be 'doing something about it'. So many scientists probably go along just because it's convenient to do so.
  8. If they know what they are talking about they say it's a HOAX. And or a new Religion to kill the United States Of America. They are doing a great job of doing it to, It's about gone. The nonsense that most scientist go for the global warming crap is a Lie Al Gore is right, there is global warming. It's snowing outside right now. The Global warming Genius says now that We are in a ten year cooling period, Caused By Global warming.
  9. While I don't know whether or not global warming is a real phenomenon caused by human release of CO2 (I will go with whatever the majority of scientists support), It's obvious that "carbon credits" and the "green movement" are little more than scams. There are no set standards for carbon credits so virtually anyone can sucker you out of money in the name of green guilt. Penn & Teller liken the sale of carbon credits to indulgences by the Catholic Church - pay for your environmental "sins" and avoid feeling guilty for causing the death of the planet. Going "green" seems to be an expensive trend in the housing market that is costly and not necessarily helpful to the environment. Is it really more beneficial to use reconstituted granite than full slabs in a counter top? What about all of the extra machinery and power needed to grind pieces of rock together and meld them into a sheet as opposed to merely cutting them out of the ground ? Also note that Al Gore uses far more electricity to power his homes than the average American and PAYS HIMSELF through his own carbon credit company to pay for the supposed environmental harm from his energy use....I sense a scam! Penn & Teller on Carbon Credits : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAu68OsFggw Acidblonde: I'm a painter. I worked temporarily as a sales representative for a KIA Autosport to earn money for grad school next year. There is no public transportation near my home and gas prices just to get to work were equal to 50% of my paycheck. It was one reason I left my job. Gore would raise gas prices to $8 a gallon if he had his way. Note that I did not criticize the idea of global warming (I'm not a scientist) but the "green movement" which screams "scam" to most skeptical people. There's no unified oversight to tell consumers just how much of their technological carbon causes global warming and nothing to back up the idea that planting a tree will stop it...in fact most carbon comes from naturally decaying plant matter. So who am I going to believe ? Al Gore who collects money from people for his own "carbon credit" company while using 10x the power of the average Joe ? Or my own lying eyes ?
  10. Great post. From your post, this has always been a key point in proof that most scientists do not believe in Global Warming. “Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson That's it right there. The scientists who still "agree" with it are most likely afraid to say what they think is truly the case. Scientists work for the government and also receive money from the government to operate. Since most politicians have bought into this new AGENDA, how can these scientists go against the system without ruining their funding? They can't. Global Warming or "Climate Change" (they had to even change the term because the earth has been cooling), is only an elitist liberal agenda. Here's my strongest argument against it. You see Al Gore, and many other people that fly around in jets, ride around in SUV's and use tons of energy every year. When they are asked about it, they say that they "OFFSET" it all by buying carbon offsets. That should be a red flag with blaring alarms sounding once you here the word "BUY". So what do the common people do? What if you have to drive alot for your job every year? You're expected to buy carbon offsets. So if you can't afford to buy them, you are FORCED to change your lifestyle, which may mean you can't take those two vacations which involve flying across the country. Watch this video, even his supporters are hypocrites (the guy behind the camera points out where the metro station is located!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESxvY1tQHTo&feature=PlayList&p=3A5EB144846A9AED&index=0&playnext=1 See, only the people that are not wealthy do not have to change their lifestyle. If Al Gore and the rest of his penguin army were really serious about Climate Change, they'd change their lifestyles....you know sacrifice....just like the rest of us are expected to do. Let him take the subway, or bike around town instead of riding in his SUV or Limo. Let him walk everywhere, no matter how far. It is absurd. The contradiction of the whole thing is that they want YOU to change your lifestyle when they don't have to do so. That is completely arrogant and elitist. It's proof that these elite liberals want two classes of people. They want all the decision makers, then all the masses that do all the work, shoulder to shoulder in the rice paddies, walking everywhere and growing our own food in our driveways where our cars used to be. Herd us all into mass transit so they can keep better track of our movements. ABSURD. Here's another video where they show how hypocritical these people like Al Gore really are in day to day life. These bunch of saps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8yf7ea4D_Q Note: If you are one of these drones that thinks Fox News is just all a lie, look up the numbers they give you in this video. Then you can do your gorilla math to make it work for you. Here's more video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G03F-YKkvJ4&feature=related Added: This one is for you "lazybones" (below). This is your mentality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eScDfYzMEEw
  11. with respect to your question and the information you have provided here,i am not a scientist, but i can see vast changes in seasons that are undeniable to everyone, for me global warming is a reality, time holds the answer to this question
  12. Wow... Still trying to convince people of this crap eh? Good luck with that. Everyone isn't an ignoramus. edit. I'm curious of the industries that the people who rush to post on this sort of topic are employed by. Not that there'd actually be any way of verification even if they did volunteer the information, but it would be interesting. oh and the thumbs down are not only cute, but very telling~ ;)
  13. The highest recorded instance of CO" was in the Ice Age. It is more an indication of the world becoming colder. There was a solar flare which nearly destroyed our planet round about the millenium- there's not much mention of that is there. It is this solar activity which led to the recent climate change. As you can gather from the way this winter is going- snow and Ice already,- we are back to being freezing again!!
  14. the 1930's was the hottest decade on record and there were less cars on the road and less people putting their "carbon footprint" on the Earth. This year may be the coldest in 7 years. (we have to wait for the end of the year to make the final conclusion) I also would like to point out that warmer temperatures are more dangerous than cooler temperatures, More people die of cold-related deaths than heat related ones. Flu, bronchitis, common colds, and heart attacks are more likely to occur in colder temps. Not to mention that colder temps kill crops more than hot temps which can cause catastrophic shortages of food.
  15. There is global warming... On Mars... On Pluto... On Earth... On Venus... on pretty much every body within the solar system, it is just not us humans that are the cause of it. I seem to recall back in the 70's the big "scientific scare was global colling, the planet is going to freeze" if we don't do something. (Yes, I'm that old, to remember hearing it on the news) They had all their charts (not pretty charts, like we have today), showing how the temperature was falling, and growing seasons were getting shorter. My questions are, since every living thing on this planet creates CO2 at some point in it's life (whether though living or decomposing after dieing) how is this bad? Since plants and vegetation thrive on CO2 wouldn't more CO2 be beneficial to to plant life? And lastly CO2 makes up just .35% of the atmosphere with humans accounting for less than 1/2 of that amount, how is it again how this is such a drastic cause of global warming. I do like the pictures that GW advocates use showing thick, dense blankets of CO2 coating the earth when in reality it's an extremely small amount.
  16. Actually more than 1/2 do not believe it.....65% are of the belief that the occurances are NOT man made...only 35% are the ones that make the claim...BUT....as they get the most preess and the others are shouted down as not being politically correct...they are the ones laughing all the way to the bank as they and Al Gore make obscene profits off it....
  17. You don't have to be a scientist to see what is happening. All you have to do is look at the environment. All over the world glaciers have melted, lakes have disappeared. I live in the Great Lakes, our shoreline has moved more than 500 feet as the water is receding. The fish have nowhere to spawn. The streams don’t have sufficient water for the fish to swim up. Vast stands of trees just die from the lack of water. That is for everyone to see from the roadside. Even the trees that get enough water, they are burnt and dead at the top from the heat and sun. You will find every excuse to maintain your lifestyle. Just pure GREED. WHAT FOOLS YOU ARE. .
