  1. If you can't guess his password you will need permission of SBC global to gain access to his account. You may need a lawyer.. Try contacting SBC first.
  2. Obtain his death certificate and called Customer service to have the account placed in your name. Once the account is in your name you can have the password reset to a default. Then use the default password to log in.
  3. To get to SBC Global Mail goto https://piauth.prodigy.net/auth.html If you don't have his password, sadly you need to call SBC to reset it. There isn't a way to do it online.
  4. You will need a current copy of a SBC GLobal statement, a copy of death certificate, and power of attorney. With this in hand contact SBC Global's customer service for help getting information needed. Hope this helps
  5. Texastot - First I can't tell you how sorry I am to know of the passing of your brother. If you need to talk - let me know offline. I'd be more than happy to help - I have some experience with this sort of grief. The other thing isn't going to make it any better. Sbcglobal of course is a yahoo service. And, I'm sure you know SBC became ameritech which is now ATT. So, I went to the TOS page for ATT Yahoo service... http://edit.client.yahoo.com/cspcommon/static?page=tos Sadly - there's a continued level of privacy after death. I looked for the word "death" in the TOS and found something. Specifically - "You agree that, except as otherwise expressly provided in these TOS, there shall be no third party beneficiaries to this agreement. You agree that your Yahoo! account is non-transferable and any rights to your Yahoo! I.D. or contents within your account terminate upon your death. Upon receipt of a copy of a death certificate, your account may be terminated and all contents therein permanently deleted. You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Service or these TOS must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred" So - I think you will need an attorney to get into his accounts. Have you been able to guess any of his other passwords? The good news is that page does list how to get in touch w/ the attorney for SBC global/Yahoo. So, you have a starting point. Good luck - and know you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
