How to search the source code of web pages, instead of just the textual content? Since every search engine indexes all of the source code, and then parses out the textual content for users to search upon; I would think it should be trivial to extend the search function to include the entire source code. My question is: is there any way to search through the source of all the HTML pages a search engine indexes (preferably Google) ?

I need a room that is walking distance (or within a few miles) of City Walk and Univeral Studios, therefore I need a search engine that will only search within a certain amount of miles. Most databases will give you the hotels closest to your search at the top and than ones that are further away. I don't want that are any further than 5 miles away. Where can I get a specified search (i.e.: distance, suite, etc)? I am looking for a very specific criteria. Anyway please help!

My idea of making search engine data on our movement total nonsense and unsellable to advertising agencies? Take any 10 words from the 3rd paragraph of a story that appears on page 5 of any newspaper - then paste that info into the search engine. Do a search and flick onto the 16th top entry and just leave it there. Hopefully the search engines that follow our movements will think that we are particularly interested in a topic and sell that piece of information on to advertisers not thinking it is pure rubbish. Therefore making a mockery of the search engines data gathering and ultimately unproductive. Have you any ideas?

How do I use a search engine to search for a specfic height in a given domain? For example, I want to search myspace for all profiles that have the height of "5' 1"" in them. If I use google, I have been able to return pages with that height in them, but I also get pages with dates, for example 5/1/2006. I want to search for that exact string (5' 1") not for variations of it with different characters in between. I believe the problem arises because the quotation mark is a special character and it possibly needs a special way of delimiting so the search string can be exact. Thanks in advance!

What are other methods of searching for things online other than search engines? I know there are huge amounts of them out there, and there is no way anyone will ever likely hear about them all.... but what are some other methods of searching online that you know of? and what are examples of those methods, if possible? Thanks!

What is a parole search like, and what are my civil rights as the wife of a parolee? My husband has been on parole for two years. He has had ZERO problems, been working full time, etc. He should even be eligible for early discharge. This morning our neighbor called saying my husband's new parole officer, whom my husband has not yet met, was at the door and the house was surrounded by six police cars and several officers. We had both already gone to work. My sister, who has dealt with parole officers, said they were probably going to raid the house. I have no idea why, but oh well. I want to know what my rights are. My sister said they can keep me and my daughter there for hours while they search and keep us from work and school. She said they did that to her. I don't care if they search the house because we have nothing to hide, but I have never been late to work in ten years, and my daughter has never had an absence or tardy in her seven years of school. Can they detain me while they search? I am not the one on parole.
